Premier raid healer with huge throughput and strong cooldowns. Safe and consistent for dungeon leveling; slower solo but extremely forgiving.

Why Holy in Classic?

Best raw healing throughput and strong party buffs. Mana can be tight, but downranking and spirit gear keep you stable. Ideal for dungeon spam; solo is slow.

Strengths

Massive burst healing with Inner Focus + Greater Heal.
Renew + Healing over time; Prayer of Healing for groups.
Spirit scaling and downranking make mana reasonable.

Weaknesses

Low solo DPS; wand reliance.
No mitigation CDs besides PW:S baseline.
More drinking if casting many big heals.

Early (10-29)

Spirit Tap 5/5 (Shadow) for regen after kills.
Improved Renew 3/3; Holy Specialization for crit.
Meditation 3/3 in Disc for regen while casting.

Mid (30-44)

Divine Fury for faster Heal/GH casts.
Improved Healing/Healing Focus (pushback protection).
Inner Focus for free crit heal.

Late (45-60)

Spiritual Guidance/Spiritual Healing for throughput.
Lightwell optional; Improved Prayer of Healing if dungeon healing.
Divine Spirit (Disc) if group wants spirit buff.

Downrank Heal/Greater Heal for efficiency. Renew + PW:S to prevent pushback, wand between heals to conserve mana.

Rotation & Playstyle

Solo

PW:S → Holy Fire/Smite → Wand finish.
Keep Renew rolling; heal with downranked Heal.
Use SW:P if target will live long; Mind Blast sparingly.

Healing

Renew on tank; PW:S pre-pull; Prayer of Healing for AoE.
Inner Focus + Greater Heal for spikes; use wand to regen Spirit Tap when possible.
Fade when threat spikes; keep Fortitude/Spirit buffs up.

Utility

Psychic Scream to peel; Dispel Magic/Cure Disease constantly.
Fear Ward (if Dwarf) to prevent fears; use Mana Potions liberally.
Shadow Protection for specific bosses.

Why Holy in TBC?

Circle of Healing (later patches) and strong single-target make Holy a flexible healer. CoH/PoM enable fast dungeon clears; spirit scaling is excellent.

Spec: Inspiration, Spiritual Guidance, Improved Healing, Circle of Healing (if available). Take Meditation from Disc for regen.

Use Shadowfiend for mana on tough quests.
Fear + Heal to reset if needed.

Spec: Circle of Healing, Serendipity, Guardian Spirit, Empowered Renew. Take Inspiration, Spiritual Guidance, and Holy Reach.

Spell Warding, Inspiration, Divine Fury.
Spiritual Guidance/Healing Focus; Holy Reach.
Circle of Healing early for AoE throughput.

Mid (74-77)

Serendipity for cast speed after FH.

Empowered Renew for stronger HoT.
